/ Why we built it
Most HR platforms were designed somewhere else, for a single country and a single language, then translated into Arabic once the interface had already been decided. You can feel it: the layout fights right-to-left, the name on the contract is not the name in the system, and payroll needs a spreadsheet on the side to survive the month.
Companies here also carry rules that those platforms treat as edge cases — WPS files the bank will reject if a single field is wrong, GOSI and GPSSA contributions that depend on nationality, end-of-service gratuity that has to accrue every month, and a Hijri calendar that decides when half the workforce is on leave.
So we built Goose HR the other way round: Arabic as a first-class language, bilingual on the same record, with the regional rules in the engine rather than in a consultant's spreadsheet. The goal is unremarkable and hard — a payroll day that ends early and a set of numbers nobody argues with.
